Favourite Things

Hello, friends!

You know those Featured Seller interviews on Etsy? I love reading them, but a lot of times I like to skip ahead to the end where they ask about favorite movies, shows, books, websites, etc. Does anyone else do that? If so, this post is for you because I want you to share with us your favorite movies, shows, books, and websites of the moment (or even all-time). For a lot of us, it's too hot to spend much time outdoors right now, but a trip to the library or video store is probably do-able and maybe not even necessary with sites like Hulu, Netflix and Amazon...

Here's hoping your AC is fulfilling its purpose!

  1. Hi Katie! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who skips to the end of those interviews to see the faves! I'll share my all-time favorite movie. It's a little known film from 1994 entitled "A Foreign Field" - about a motley assortment of people, American and British, who return to Normandy 50 years after the invasion. Cast includes Alec Guinness, Lauren Bacall, Jean Moreau and Geraldine Chaplin. The ending makes me cry every time.

And there's a song that does the same thing; I get teary every time I hear Johnny Cash sing "Sunday Morning Comin' Down."

Anybody else weep over that one?

  2. Well I shall just tell you some of my favourite books because I do adore them.
The Catcher in the Rye, (I also love Franny and Zooey),
    Jonathan Livingston Seagull,
    The Grapes of Wrath,
    A Moveable Feast,
    Romeo and Juliet,
    Pride and Prejudice,
    Perfume (Patrick Suskind)
I could go on but they are top of the list! :)

  3. WOW!!
I TOTALLY go to the End of the Interview to see what's what and who's who on their Fav's!! Not quite like reading the end of a book first, but kind of....

Here are a few of mine, because there are EASILY 100 in Books and Movies:
*Movies: An Officer and A Gentleman; Blade Runner; Thelma and Louise; Brokeback Mountain; A Streetcar Named Desire; Finding Nemo; Sophie's Choice (this goes in my books too, by the way....)
*Books: Beloved (and EVERYTHING by Toni Morrison); Prayer for Owen Meany (and Everything by John Irving); Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom; ALL works of John Steinbeck; The Bone People by Keri Hulme; The Love Medicine "Trilogy" by Louise Erdrich
*Shows...? Like TV.....? don't watch it, but I used to LOVE *M*A*S*H*!!
*Websites: Are there other Websites besides Etsy.....? I hadn't noticed.....

This was fun....!! Thank You Katie and I hope your little Sweetpea Lovebug is doing GREAT!!

  5. I suppose I could answer my own post!

    In no particular order...

BBC's presentation of Pride & Prejudice
    BBS's presentation of Jane Eyre
    Charlotte Gray
    Spirited Away
    The Young Victoria
    Strictly Ballroom

Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and all the letters written by the Apostle Paul
    Pride & Prejudice (yay, Kim!)
    Jane Eyre
    The Neverending Story
    The Time Traveler's Wife
    The Shack

    Bones (yay, Sue!)
    Rookie Blue
    White Collar
So You Think You Can Dance
    Burt the Conqueror
(Does this make me a couch potato?)

I would list music, but there's too much--mostly UK bands/singers. I'm a bit of an Anglophile when it comes to the arts!

  6. PS: Thanks for playing, everyone! I always enjoy learning more about you all! :D

And, Kristin, my "little Sweetpea Lovebug" is incredible, thank you! Snoozing peacefully next to me as I type... :D
