Member Interview

Who are you?

Please tell us a bit about yourself.

Hi, I'm Poppy an Etsy "veteran." My first shop poppyswickedgarden.etsy.com started in 2006 selling mostly one of a kind clothing that didn't fit into my band reconstruction shop on feebay, of course it has transformed over the years, I opened my "DIY" reconstruction and TuTu shop in 2008 XPoppysWickedGardenX.etsy.com when Ebay started going downhill. Most recently in the past year my mother Cinders and I opened 2 more shops poppysgardengate.etsy.com for home & garden items and poppySprouts.etsy.com specializing in cute clothing for the kiddos.

How did you learn about Etsy Project Embrace?

I learned about Etsy Project Embrace through my love of treasuries.

What is your favorite item in your shop at the moment?

My personal fav items are the longstockings and convertibles. I wear them often myself because they are comfortable, cute and fun:)

What is your favorite possession, and why do you cherish it?

My favorite possession is my teeny weenie teddy bear that my father who died of Pancreatic Cancer 6 years ago gave to me when I was 3. I keep it on my shelf above my computer to remind me of him.

What do you collect?

I collect large quantities of fabric, seriously I have my own fabric store. I also collect CocaCola stuff for my kitchen and Yoda figures.

Where would you like to be and what do you hope to be doing ten years from now?

10 years from now I would love to still be doing what I am except I hope to be able to take the time to teach others my craft, specifically the underprivileged, helping them to become more self sufficient.
